Continuing SLAM’s commitment to public art projects, we will be hosting a Community-Created Mural at Bogert Park from 10am-12pm on August 9th, 2020.

(This follows SLAM’s FREE Community Yoga class scheduled at 9am.)

Local artists DG House, Mimi Matsuda, and Kelsey Dzintars were each tasked with creating a HUGE 4’ x 8’ painting that embodies their interpretation of one of three words: HAPPINESS, HOPE, & PATIENCE. We invite you to join us at Bogert Park from 10am – 12pm to watch as DG, Mimi, and Kelsey put the finishing touches on their panels.

We invite you to add YOUR thoughts and interpretations of those themes on a separate panel that will be added to the artist-created paintings and installed as long term public art installations around Bozeman. Observing recommended guidelines pertaining to physical distancing, community members wishing to take part in this activity will be able to take a turn at the panel and add their creative 2 cents to this collaborative community art project. Please bring a mask to wear while you participate in this event.  Art materials will be provided for you to use.

During these trying times, we are encouraging our community to respect, reflect and rebuild. Keeping in mind that HAPPINESS, HOPE & PATIENCE are contagious.

We hope you will join us for this interactive experience and that your heart and soul will find peace and comfort through participation.
